I am the founder of the Engel Clinic & I am a warm, highly skilled psychologist, who very much enjoys working with people. I work one on one with each client and tailor the program to suit their needs. I completed my university thesis on how anxiety effects our perception and our behaviour and was the first psychologist to begin using gut-directed psychology (the Manchester Protocol) in Sydney to successfully treat people living with IBS, functional & inflammatory bowel disorders.
All of my treatment approaches are evidence based. I use a combination of mindfulness-based CBT, solutions focused therapy, clinical hypnosis, diaphragmatic breathing with biofeedback & diet to bring about change. My focus areas include:
*Anxiety & mood disorders
*Gut disorders (functional & inflammatory)
*Disordered eating (obesity, binge, anorexia & orthorexia, ARFID)
*Auto immune conditions & pain management.
Being born in Thredbo I am an avid skier, lover of adventure sports, nature & wellness. I also find that living a healthy lifestyle helps me manage my own autoimmune disorder & the challenges associated with it.
